USWhen I opened up my shipment where I had ordered 2 Elk Back Strap Portions, to be honest, I was quite surprised and not in a good way. After I lifted off the dry ice packs and lots of brown paper there were 2 mini pieces of meat. One was stamped .79 of a lb the other .99 of a lb Both were processed back in 2023. This was a compensation order for my first order which had a 2022 slaughter date and had freezer burn. I thought with the cost and limited supply that the meat would be processed within the year and when supply was out it was out. I enjoyed the burger I ordered before but this order was disappointing.
USThe elk meat was great.. but noticed that the price i was charged $85 per package is now $45 ?

USI ordered the elk backstrap portion which cost $85 and was supposed to weigh 3.5-4 pounds. When I received the package, I received one portion weighing 1.17 pounds for $85! That is exorbitant! I sent a chat and the customer service person was very polite and agreed that was incorrect. So I was shipped two more pieces weighing 1.1 pounds each. In total, less than 3.5 pounds for $85. I see now on the website that you get one portion weighing about 1 pound for $45. While the meat and quality is excellent to be sure, that price is way too high! If I felt it were a better value, I would’ve given it five stars.
