USThis was my first time trying elk and I loved it. It's better than beef!
USSmoked on pellet grill for 1.5 hours. Let set overnight and eat the next day. Big portions and was so tender. Will buy again.
USMy family and I loved the Elk ribs, including my young daughter. The quality, taste and shipping are unreal. Problem now is my family prefers these to our local fine dining!
USWhile these vary in size, they don't vary in quality. I recently received one that will allow me to serve six! I can't tell you how impressed your guests will be. The flavor can be described as less gamey than venison, not as mild as bison but, distinctly delightful, treat yourself and your guests. TRY IT!
USWell can’t knock the fact that the rack of Elk Meat looks delicious? But unfortunately I’ve had 2 separate orders back to back deliveries arrive (previously frozen) completely thawed boxes soaked in meat drippings warm and unsafe to refreeze or eat not knowing how long the raw meat has been unfrozen and unrefrigerated ? Again I’ve been excited to receive fresh but frozen grass fed New Zealand Elk Racks for home coming dinner for my mom in two weeks but cannot risk refreezing the meat or even unintentionally having to or wanting to cook it immediately as it’s unsafe for human consumption? Paige at First Lifght Farms was sincerely wonderful and sent a replacement order for the first shipment I ordered that had arrived late/delayed by OnTrack Carriers and was spoiled from completely thawing. The replacement order I assumed would be packed with extra dry ice and frozen solid Elk but on second day int transit scanned arrived at Ontrack Depot in Phoenix at 6am … didn’t arrive in suburb of phoenix Fountain Hills until the follow day at 3:30pm? I even tried to expedite the package using OnTrac website after seeing it hung up but guess driver thought the day drive from Cali to Phoenix wasn’t long enough to spoil my second order completely? I love animals and to think this beautiful elk raised in New Zealand made it all the way to California prepared.. frozen only to be wasted one by one a packer stingy on dry ice packs (3 small empty bags only in box) and an Ontrack driver knowing (probably same as first driver) just by blood dripping from box be funny to destroy the second order of meat? What an insult. To an animal and to me. I personally laid blame to OnTrack? This time but to the packer of the frozen meat ? I got a crushed blood soaked well sealed box of warm air. Thanks?
